The performer takes out a deck of cards and spreads through them, asking a spectator to merely think of any card she sees. Let us assume that she thinks of the five of spades. The performer takes one card from the middle of the deck and places it on the table in front of the spectator.
The performer claims that this card is indeed the spectator's thought-of card. When it is turned over, it is an indifferent card. Slightly embarassed, the performer proceeds to correct the situation. He places the entire deck on the table, casts a shadow over the deck, and spreads the cards. There is one card reversed in the middle of the deck -- it is the thought-of card! But wait -- there's more!
The performer explains that he knew which card would be thought of because he had taken that card from a different deck altogether and placed it in the deck now in play. Turning the card over, the performer reveals that it is the only card with an odd colored back, completely different from the rest of the deck!
This is NOT a Brainwave deck! You can turn the deck over and show the faces of the cards, and it's a complete brain fryer to both laymen and magicians alike. Power Cards is a great effect to perform anytime, anywhere, making this effect totally universal. From walkaround, to close-up, to parlor, this routine can play them all!
Easy to do!
