The Magic Box...for the discerning magician.
If clothes make the man, high-end quality apparatus will help make the magician. The Magic Box. manufactured from Italian Poplar Wood, is actually more like a chest to hold and store your magical treasures. It measures 24" across by 11" wide by 5" deep. One main storage area 9 1/2" by 13" by 5". One accessories area containing a drawer 7" by 7 1/2" by 3 1/4" deep (perfect for holding silks, gimmicks, sponge balls, etc). The pull hole in the drawer is perfect for ditching and retrieving a thumb tip as needed. Under the drawer is an area 7" by 7 1/2" by 1 1/2" deep (perfect for storing double stacks of cards). You can get 8 regulation decks in there with room for a few other odds and ends. I keep my flash paper, lighter and some rope in there as well. In the front of the drawer is and area just right to keep a line up of coins and finger rings at hand for easy retrieval. All of the inside compartments and the inside of the drawer are lined in Wool Felt (not the cheap craft store type). An additional hinged back board comes down to create a very nice staging area for your tricks. (Cups and balls, coins, card, etc). The staging area is also covered in Wool Felt. On the inside of the top lid is a shatter proof mirror for practicing slights. Behind the top of the mirror are three areas that are perfect to keep gaffed cards ready to go. Also there is a slot just the right size for business cards. Once the lid is down, the cards stick out just enough so as to be easily accessed and brought to the table top on the outside of the closed lid. The top of the piece is double covered in Wool Felt as well. It is a great area for card, coin and many other kind of tricks. Really rich and plush. The felt is all dark red inside and out (Burgundy). The bottom of the piece has the same color Wool Felt pad so as to not scratch any table top it may be resting on. All of the fittings and hardware are solid brass and include side handles, hinges, screws with finish washers and a locking lid support. The outside of the piece is decorated by gold leaf graphics of leaves and vines bringing an added element of class. Graphics are done using durable clear vinyl covered foil. Also on the label is a nice color reprint of an old Houdini show card. Not trying capitalize on his name so much as using it to inspire the owner to be the best that they can be. After all, wouldn't you practice a bit harder in the underside mirror knowing that the master was looking on?
