The Worker's Choice Okito Box by Steve Shufton is one of the finest and most practical Okito Coin Boxes in the world! The practicalities built into the design of this special coin box make it the obvious worker’s choice.
What’s so great about this Okito box? Read on! When Shufton started his search for the ultimate Okito box, he didn’t know that years of trial and expense would go by before he would finally have to design it himself.
To start, he wanted a box that would hold at least five coins. Why five coins? Standard Okito boxes are designed to hold only four. That means that when you shake the full box, your audience will hear nothing! If the box is five deep, then when it has four coins in it your audience will still hear a distinctive rattle, letting them know the box is full! There is another advantage to the five-coin chamber.
In a standard box, the fourth coin is level with the rim. When one coin is removed, it is visually obvious. With a five-coin chamber, this becomes a bit less obvious and adds another subtle layer of deception, allowing you to display the interior much more freely.
Shufton wanted a box with a little extra height. Why extra height? When rim stealing (a la Roth) from a standard Okito box, your hand has to be pushed so low, it becomes difficult to easily or deceptively make your steal. Although extra height is already added to the Shufton Box by the five-coin chamber, just a little more is added in the base. This makes rim stealing significantly easier! Now the move is quick, easy and invisible! The additionally weighted bottom makes turn-over corrections a breeze and sure-fire.
Next, the Shufton Box has a thicker, wider rim. Standard boxes have thin, dainty little rims that make depositing a coin on the rim for a steal more difficult, adding to the possibility that you will miss! When you do balance your coin on the rim, standard boxes make the sound barely audible - it doesn't sound like the coin went in the box, just like the ones that did. With the Shufton Box, you can put a coin on the rim with assurance that it will stay there until you steal it, and you can do it with a nice loud clink that will convince your audience that it went in just like the others.
The Shufton Okito box has specially beveled edges to make your turn-overs as smooth as silk and a bit more quiet.
This box has a chamber wide enough to accommodate a shell with no fear of sticking or jamming, adding a whole new element to the types of deceptions you can create.
This box is designed to take a real-world beating and last forever in the professional world. The box is highly polished and won’t show scratches as much as a typical satin-finished box.
There are a lot of very well made boxes on the market, and believe me, Shufton has tried them all. None of them have all the features he was looking for to perform more sophisticated routines. So, he designed his own! The Shufton Okito box is likely the sturdiest, most versatile, most deceptive box you will find for doing all of your favorite moves. For the routines Steve performs on his double DVD set, “WRINKLES ON THE TABLE,” there was no other box he would even consider using.
Shufton now offers this box to the magic world. This box is the one that will last forever. Each one is meticulously crafted to exacting specifications and polished to give professionals the type of prop they deserve to work with.
These are a joy to behold, and a bigger joy to use. Each one is stamped to assure authenticity. If you are an Okito box enthusiast, you will want one of these beauties in your collection today.
