Howard Thurston created the largest traveling magic show of his day and became one of the most famous magicians of all time!
Thurston was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1869. He ran away from home when he was a young boy and joined the circus, where he met The Dean of Magic, Mr. Harry Kellar. Thurston earned Kellar's respect and the two eventually merged shows. In 1908, Kellar retired and Thurston continued performing the legendary act until his death in 1936.
Suitable for framing and displaying in your home, office, or magic studio, this 12x18 inch graphite drawing, by Aaron Smith, depicts Howard Thurston circa 1930. Remember Thurston in his trademark regal pose. A serious man. A deep thinker.

Such an unassuming rendering, yet Thurston's eyes, deep and magical, seem to engage the onlooker with a royal stare. His calm expression and refined posture combine a century of secret methods and spectacular plots into the presentation of the man himself. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Howard Thurston!
