These are some of the best short decks I've found. The corners are perfectly rounded and the cuts are precise. My only complaint is that there is no choice of color. I don't know if they only come in blue, but so far that's the only color I've gotten. FROM THE MAGIC DEPOT: Robert, yes, these cards come in both Red and Blue. However, we only get one color at a time and often have more of one than the other. If you request a specific color in the comments box during checkout, we'll try our best to accommodate.

The short decks are very well cut especially the corners. I made a couple of Titanic Decks and a couple of Mene Tekel Decks. The are well worth the extra cost for the quality. Too many of the short decks available are poorly cut or have too much cut off. I have seen some that have as much as 1/8 of an inch cut off.

The list of what you can do with these cards could go on and on. You can riffle shuffle a "short/long" deck over and over, and the long card will never leave the companion short card that is above it. If the short and it's companion long card are set up in stack order such as "Stebbins", you can cut the deck and show a short card, and then name the card that is next. After doing a thorough shuffle of the deck this will amaze people. Cards can be set up in many other ways such as matching a card with the same number and the opposing color (such as 9 Clubs with the 9 Spades). I searched for days on the net before finding them at Magic Depot. Once you start doing tricks with these you will keep coming back here for more.

This is an excellent investment. The short deck is of excellent quality, only a fraction of a milimeter short, with perfectly rounded corners. You would not be able to make it yourself without special machinery. Some possible uses: Use a card from any normal deck as a long key card. Combine it with a normal deck to make two Mene-Tekel decks (see Encyclopedia of Card Tricks for some ideas). 1. Combine it with a 26-26 forcing decks to make two Svengali decks. 2. Combine it with normal blank face, blank back, or just take all the black cards from the short deck and all the red cards from a normal deck to make special packs for visual transformations using the Svengali principle. 3. Have all the red short cards on top, all the normal black cards on the bottom, have a short card selected, faro shuffle the deck, have the card replaced, align it with the long cards, riffle the deck for a spectator who has not seen the card, and he will see only one red card among all the black cards. You can then spread the pack and show it is a normal deck. Everyone will believe the spector discovered what the selected card was because she is psychic. This item is cheap, has many great uses, its quality is excellent. You will perform more great magic with this than with $400 dollars of other apparatus. Even if you are not a cardician, the short deck does not require lots of practice and you will inmediately find multiple uses for it.
